The approach
Somatic work can take many forms
The focus of the work can be physical, such as pain, tension or restricted movement. It can also involve nervous system responses, body awareness and inner experience. Often, these different aspects are connected. Sometimes the work is hands-on. At other times, we work through conversation, awareness and attending to what is happening in the body. We decide together, but ultimately the choice is yours. We begin with what brings you here and work from there.
I am rarely interested in the symptom alone. I am curious about what lives beneath it and how it is connected to the larger whole. Underlying my work is a deep trust in the body's own intelligence and its natural capacity to respond, reorganise and move towards greater balance. My role is not to force change, but to listen, offer the right kind of support and create the conditions for that intelligence to do its work.
Somatic Experiencing
Somatic Experiencing is a body-based approach to working with stress, trauma and the nervous system.
We slow things down enough to notice what is happening in the body, in terms of sensations, impulses, patterns and responses that may otherwise pass unnoticed. This creates space for the nervous system to respond differently, supporting greater regulation, resilience and choice.
Bowen Therapy
Bowen Therapy is a gentle, hands-on form of bodywork that works with the body as a whole, addressing patterns of pain, tension and restricted movement while also influencing the nervous system.
Less is more is a central principle of Bowen Therapy: rather than forcing change, the work offers specific input and allows the body's own responses to unfold. Therapeutic pauses are an important part of the work, giving the body time to process and respond.
I want you to be able to live a life that feels like your own.
